*Important Information about our Film Festival in Northampton*
Right here we go..
First of all. Like our fb page: https://www.facebook.com/OutdoorCinemaNorthampton
as we do updates about event on there.
When you arrive at the Abbey there is car parking around in their public car park. You can also come and park on the field next to the event, the entrance to this car park is right next to the entrance to the Abbey. We are located on the Battlefield in front of the Abbey, there is no vehicle access and you will have to walk there.
We open at 6:30pm for evenings and 12:30pm for the day screenings NOT before. (Excluding Sunday, the timings are 5:30pm - 8:30pm) You can arrive earlier and sit in your camping chair whilst in the queue, that’s fine.
Please bring warm clothing, blankets and chairs (unless you have brought VIP tickets then CHAIRS are NOT provided) Picnics are welcome, as we are only one of the events left that allow picnics and drinks please take your rubbish home.
We will NOT have a bar, you're allowed to bring your own drink. At the time of this update, there is no catering due to them getting covid last minute, we do have hot drinks and little snacks, we are working hard to rectify this and will update further. There is a local cafe on site which is open between 10am and 4pm.
What to expect?
When you arrive, music will be playing through the speakers whilst you sit and chill with your friends and family. The past 2 years or so have been tough, so enjoy some friend/family time in some safe surroundings.
The film will be the last duration of the event, so for example if it’s a 2 hour film and the event finishes at 10:30pm the film will start at 8:30pm ish.
None of the events have sold out (in fact with everything going on in the world we saw a decline in ticket sales) so there is plenty of space and tickets available on the door. Regardless of the attendance it’s all about you and what you make, this is your time, your moment, your friends, your family, we just provide the atmosphere and film.
Like all events, we operate in most weather conditions. Only in extreme weather conditions would we cancel/postpone an event, as this is a Film Festival weekend and we have 5 screenings, if your screening is not up to what you would like i.e overcast weather - you may be able to transfer between events that are not sold out.
Like other outdoor cinemas who say if you don’t turn up - you lose out.
We’ve done this for 8 years now and we say if you come prepared you can still have a good time, bring fishing umbrellas, small pop up tents, water proof clothing. There will be people saying “its just typical British weather, lets get on with it” and on the flip side “Its raining, I’m not sitting in that” We won’t please both. Major events like Glastonbury etc don't cancel for this weather.
- Come and try it first, if you do and its too much you can still transfer events after
- You can transfer between events
- Come prepared for some rain
- Arrive just at the start of the film time
We cant be more fair than that!
We hope you enjoy our events!
